William Lifford, CP (“Bill”) is an American Board–Certified Prosthetist with more than 25 years of experience in prosthetic patient care, documentation, and insurance advocacy.

Widely regarded as a national expert in high-quality prosthetic documentation, insurance coverage criteria, and prosthetic appeals, Bill has been actively involved in advanced prosthetic documentation since 2005. His thorough, precise, and clinically grounded documentation has served as the foundation for thousands of successful insurance prior authorizations, and he has prevailed in nearly a thousand appeals, including pre-payment and post-payment audits.

In addition to his consulting and appeals work, Bill has lectured extensively at state O&P association chapter meetings, presenting on a wide range of topics related to documentation standards, coverage criteria, and effective appeals strategies.
